What is 5-Day Club®?

Why My Community?

5-Day Club® is an exciting, fun-filled one hour session held each day for five consecutive days (It can be 3-4 days if needed). A 5-Day Club® can identify a home in the neighborhood that is safe for a child to go to in times of trouble. It brings the teaching of biblical morality to his neighborhood. It connects the child and his family to others where they live, developing a good community spirit. When you teach God’s Word to children in your neighborhood, your neighbors learn what you believe. Community centers and housing complexes are also great places for a club.

Clubs can also be held in Boys & Girls Clubs, YMCA’s, daycares, churches, and more!

What does it look like?

5-Day Club® is open to all boys and girls between the ages of five and twelve, regardless of religious background. Parents are welcome to attend the club with their child. High school and college-age students are prepared to teach 5-Day Clubs in a week-long summer training program (Christian Youth In Action™). CEF staff or Christian adults who have received comparable training from CEF® supervise them and sometimes teach with them. There is no charge for children to attend. All club workers have been carefully screened as required by the child protection policy of CEF®.

How Do I Schedule a 5-Day Club or Get More Information?

Please contact Kathryn (GNC Coordinator & Teacher Trainer) at CEFofNAL.gnc@gmail.com or 256-353-3139. Clubs are held in June and July and are usually at 9am-10, 11am-12, or 1:30pm-2:30 (times could be slightly different based on distance to next or from previous location).

What Do Neighborhood Hosts Do?

As a neighborhood host, you provide a location for the club (your home or neighborhood clubhouse, for example) and invite children ages 5-12. If possible, provide a simple snack for the children – this is your only expense for this program. We will provide a customized invitation that you can print, text, or email.

What is Christian Youth In Action®?

How are you spending your summer? As relaxing as it may be to chill at the pool or hang out with friends, what if you chose instead to make an eternal impact in the lives of kids right where you live? Teens from around your state are coming together to reach the boys and girls of your community – and YOU can be a part of this team!

Rachel shares about CYIA, what a typical day is like, & more in videos in our CYIA 2021 YouTube channel. Click here to check it out!

Why Christian Youth In Action®?

Christian Youth In Action® (CYIA™) is a program designed to train you and a team of other young people in effective and engaging ways to teach children about God while deepening their own faith and growing into who God wants them to be. The program is open to teens ages 13-19 who are interested in serving the Lord alongside a team of like minded students from your area. (Teens 12 years old may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.) You will attend a one-week training school where you will learn to present the Gospel clearly on a child’s level, counsel a child for salvation and lead a dynamic 5-Day Club® for kids. After this training, you will return to your local community and teach 5-Day Club®s at various community locations with a team of other young people. You will be able to take the light of the Gospel to them in their apartment complexes, day-care centers, neighborhoods, schools and other community locations.

Testimonies from CYIA missionaries

You’ll get up early, work a long time, get frustrated by crazy kids’ songs stuck in your head for the next year. But in the end, you’ll see it’s been a lot more than that. You’ve learned so much: you’ve forced yourself to get up in front of others; you’ve grown closer to your fellow workers; and, most of all, you’ve planted the most valuable seeds in the hearts of so many little ones.
“Every time I share the Gospel message, it becomes more real in my life.”
“Coming to CYIA is a real encouragement for me in my walk with God.  I am just so encouraged to see all these (teens) wanting to live and work for God.”
“I have been able to use my previous CYIA training to reach children with the gospel.  It has also helped me to teach children more effectively in my church.”
“I learned that God has a plan for my life. That God hears prayer. I’ve learned how to understand children and how to talk to them in their world. And how to work under pressure, how to run on a few hours of sleep and still be enthusiastic. I’ve learned a ton of scriptures and what they mean, how to pick a random verse and teach the whole Gospel through it. … And that you shouldn’t let your age stop you from what God wants you to do. That even if your the youngest, you can still do it. And anyone who doesn’t think you can, prove them wrong. … This summer was the best thing to ever happen to me, for I’ve leaned that God is in control.”
“I learned sooooo much like how to deal with kids of all ages for many different situations, how to teach bible stories and how to IPEAR (intro presentation explanation application repetition) anything like a song, bible verse, bible lesson, etc. and how to tell the Gospel to kids of any ages in a way they would understand and lots of different ways that I never knew before. I also learned soooooo much more that couldn’t be put into words but it helped me so much with my spiritual life and growth as a Christian and the things I learned I will be using for as long as I live.”
